You may be a candidate for a thigh-buttock lift if you have experienced a loss of skin elasticity of the thigh, hip or buttock areas. This procedure may also be fitting if your skin in this area is saggy, flabby and dimpled in appearance. If you are self-conscious about your lower body appearance, this procedure may be desirable.
A thigh-buttock lift is intended to improve your contours and give you tighter, more attractive thigh and buttock skin. It can also decrease irregularities in skin surface.
The Thigh & Buttock Lift Procedure
This procedure is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis unless otherwise advised by the plastic surgeon. Wide variations in the design of the incisions to meet clothing or personal desires are possible. Lifting the entire thigh and buttock (circumferential lower body lift) will require much longer incisions that start in the buttock crease, extend around the groin, up over the side of the abdomen, over the flank and across the back.
Recovery from Thigh & Buttock Lift
For larger thigh lifts, one or two nights care in a hospital or skilled nursing facility are usually required.
